We've spent the last 7 1/2 years trying to make careers for ourselves making music. What we should have been focusing on was simply making music. That's what we're doing now. No more concern for building a fan base or getting label attention. No more trying to figure out how to gather up as many myspace "friends" as possible, so as to convince ourselves that we're doing something right.
