"poor skeletons" is a name that describes the essence of what Jeanni has been seeking to uncover, reveal, admit to and understand within her songwriting as the tool, and living her life as the typical human, being the ultimate experiment.
There is a reverence to what is behind the ego, the shedding of the 'skin', what we 'wear' to survive in the twisted society of this world, even the underbelly of who we are,all of what we 'hide', this is the lure into this whole deal. To be in this world and to strive to not be 'of this world' has been creating this musical journey.
All the therapy in the world can uncover all of the problems, delve out several complicated solutions, yet leave a person, still, a poor skeleton, simply put, a bag of bones with all sorts of scary reflections when looking through the truest mirror that can be found. Music has been, the best therapy.
Having played bluegrass with several bands in her teens and into her early 20's, Jeanni discovered Classical violin to be a stronger addiction than the tasty licks that prevailed within the slickest of jam sessions.
Belmont was the college, and Violin was the instrument, after graduation, Jeanni was for hire and played for several major acts such as Natalie Cole, Bernadette Peters, Plant and Page to name a few. this was feeding the desire to become a lead musician she always dreamed.
As a three piece band, poor skeletons played all around Tennessee for a couple of years, but finding the 'song' and finding a deeper more straight forward voice became the search, hence, a solo leap, Jeanni travelled overseas for a few summers. This is what captured a renewed and a more refined desire which now continues as the solo show with some electronic sounds from the lap top as well!
Jeanni continues to go solo with a new batch of songs, finishing her "Addicted To Art" CD, within a later than expected time frame, and now within her next CD project already in the works, this is a show you will want to come and experience!
