Pop 4 Diabetes is a new project that is inspired by a young singer/actor called Shane,who himself has type 1 diabetes .He wants to raise as much money as possible for medical research into finding a cure for diabetes.The first event was on 3rd November 2007,the second was on 25th October 2008,both sold out, so the third one is now booked for 17th October 2009.
This year we have the support of X factor 2008 winner,Alexandra Burkes Mum,Melissa Bell who has diabetes herself and she will be performing on the night.Melissa was lead singer of chart topping group Soul 11 Soul and is still busy working today with her band Soul Explosion.
The Pop 4 Diabetes CD will be officially released on 9th February 2009 with all the profits going to Diabetes UK towards medical Research,
Its already playlisted on some radio stations and has some great reviews,as well as some tv advertising coming soon.
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic, life threatening condition. People diagnosed with it rely on numerous insulin injections or pump infusions every day, just to stay alive.
