About Colour Me Pop

Colour Me Pop is a DIY indie pop gig promoter in London (formerly of Chicago). What does that mean? We book a nights' bands ourselves. We DJ complementary music in between the bands and maybe get people to have a dance! We do this side by side with some of the world's most passionate pop promoters in London. Most of all, we do this because of our great passion for indie pop music. The new and exciting indie pop bands, record labels, popfests, club nights, and zines (paper ones even!) worldwide are just too much of a force to ignore. * We are Jennifer and Martin, 2/4ths of the people who promoted and DJed the monthly indie club night Pure Pop for Now People from 2003 - 2005 in Chicago. From 2008 - early 2009 we put on bands in the windy city. Now we live in the pop metropolis that is London! * Where does our name come from? Check the show name that this brilliant performance comes from. Oh, the stylish abandon with which awkward men danced! * If you're a band who'd like to play a Colour Me Pop gig in London or a venue who would like to work with us, please contact us. Arsenic!	Aug 29 2009 10:17 AM That's the spirit! Chill time is essential, but having two shows to pick from is certainly a happy conundrum to be in. Four months seems like forever now, but I know that it's going to go ever so quickly. As for money... there is NEVER enough money. I'm partial to 'Allo Darlin', but that may be because I've never seen them live before. The same can be said for sooo many bands, but hopefully that list will significantly decrease in size by years end! I'm also going to try to get my music out there somehow, so a pop metropolis is the place to be!!
Arsenic!	Aug 28 2009 5:30 PM Much indeed! I'll actually be flying into Gatwick on sunday. My schedual works out great; I have fridays and mondays off in addition to the weekend so there will be plenty of time to explore the cities. I do hope London lives up the the title of "pop metropolis":)
