After a very enjoyable two year residency at Club Sumo at The Cornerhouse in Middlesbrough, POP DISCO! has a new home.
From now on, The Empire in Middlesbrough will play host to POP DISCO! on the second Saturday of the month on the middle floor of the Metropolis club night.
We had some great times at Sumo, from starting off as an hour of 80s hits to 40 people in "Little Tokyo" (remember that!? Old school!) to building it up to five hours of timeless hits to hundreds of people in Room 3. I'm going to miss it, but the new home at Metropolis promises to be even better... make sure you get involved!
METROPOLIS happens every Saturday at The Empire in Middlesbrough. Doors are 10.30pm and it's £4.50 in before 11.30pm.
The Centre Ring: Indie/Electro/Allsorts with DJs Burnsey and CJ Ranson. Live bands too, sometimes big uns!
The First Floor: Twice a month, this is where you'll find POP DISCO! New super soundsystem, 2 new bars, loads of sofas and a cracking XL dancefloor for you to play on.
The Kaboom Room: A genre crushing musical jamboree with DJs Fashion Fil and JT the Rocketman.
So yeah. On the second Saturday of every month, head to the middle floor of the Empire to hear everything from Michael Jackson to House Of Pain, Talking Heads to Bomfunk MCs, Van Halen to Phoenix, Chromeo to Cyndi Lauper, Madonna to Chuck Berry, The Postal Service to ACDC, Fleetwood Mac to Backstreet Boys, Outkast to whatever... if it sounds good, it is good.

As well as residencies at Middlesbrough's The Cornerhouse and The Empire, I've also done guest DJ slots at places such as New Slang in Kingston, The Camden Crawl (Rock Sound Stage), The Enterprise in London (Big Scary Monsters Night), The Revue Bar in Soho (A Silent Film EP launch) and Northumbria University Students Union to name but a few.
