On Wednesday, April 27th, at approximately 11:49 pm U.S. Central Standard time, a small collision occurred in Cyberspace. Via Google search, a Bitstream.net user stumbled onto I.P. address 84.92.190.82, a soon to be defunct U.K. website called The Sound of Muzak. There, the three letters typed into the search engine- 'K', 'L' and 'F' appeared, along with a rant regarding the trending lack of creativity in popular music. The Bitstream user was Brooke Aldridge; the I.P. address belonged to John Matthews.

Matthews- an electronic composer responsible for creations by The Cuban Boys, Spray, Rikki & Daz as well as the 2006 Eurovision smash 'Teenage Life'- and Aldridge- a demo singer for Synth pioneer Dr. Fink- began an unlikely friendship of epic proportions. Tired of watching mediocre talents storm the charts, the two created an over-the-top character called Lolly Pop. With the help of Fink as well as Time alumni Monte Moir, the two crafted a Nu-Electro album by the same name. Lolly was a cartoony, Electro-clash fashionista preoccupied with Haute Couture, Pop Art, Kabuki, Operettas and GLBT culture. Following the 2007 Myspace hit 'Elevator Operator' and several thousand records sold, it has been whispered that Pop served as a prototype for a certain major label artist currently commandeering international airwaves. Still, Lolly was simply a scratch on the surface of things to come: namely, POP INC.

On a humid Monday night in downtown Minneapolis at a club called The Saloon, the Siouxsie & The Banshees song 'Face To Face' cued up on the Numark 6. As the strains of the strings swelled, a tall, mysterious figure with a microphone stepped over the VJ booth door and onto the granite bar. Opera shook the August 2007 air as its conduit prowled the length of the counter top. Across the room, a spellbound Brooke stared and pressed her fingers against the cool marble to feel the vibrations of his voice. The singer was Neil Schultz.

And the rest as they say is... the future.
