Poplord was originally a duo, Tom Magill and Stan Schaffer, and since 2007 also includes Craig Daniel, which we believe makes us a true "band" by definition. These three youngsters have been part of the Fresno-area music scene for thousands of years. Tom and Stan were both in longtime Beatles tribute band, "The Beetles", among others. Craig was in popular rock act "Playtonics", who relocated to the bay area to become famous, and nearly did. Poplord began in late 2005, when Tom and Stan began collaborating together on a batch of new songs. Excited by the results, they attempted to lure guitarists into the fold, but apparently must have burned too many bridges, as none took the bait. For their eponymous first CD "Poplord", released in March 2007, Tom attempted to fill the guitarist void himself. This decision may account for why the critically acclaimed CD failed to chart...or even sell more than 15 copies. Fortunately, Craig, possibly under the effects of heavy narcotics, agreed to join the group in mid 2007, resulting in Poplord's 2nd full-length CD, "Full/Filled" released in August 2008. Both CDs have received many glowing reviews by the pop press. Trust us, they were all good. Poplord is already busy recording its 3rd CD in as many years. Thats right. Try to catch up punks.
