It all started in the end of 98 when I was craving for new music and found a friend in Toronto who introduced me to the world of great pop music and the Indiepop mail list. Shortly after the music released by labels like Siesta, Elefant, Matinée, Labrador, Sarah, Radio Khartoum, Apricot, Firestation and a few others became an obsession... This new music was so good but so hard to get that the idea of a mail order selling indiepop music in Canada was almost like a faraway dream. A few years later, in 2002, the dream became a reality after a trip to Madrid and the first contact was made with Elefant Records to sell their records in Canada. By the end of 2002 the Poppolar website was up and running with just 100 titles available. Today we have almost 2000 titles in stock and a (sort of) bi-weekly podcast radio show playing and commenting on the music we love so much. [ Érico, poppolar, http://www.poppolar.com ]
