About me:
Pop Rocked 2: Gig Poster Explosion, an exhibition of rock poster art featuring some of the Midwest's finest poster designers, will take place at Powerhouse Factories' Jim Amann Gallery Friday, December 8, 2006 through January 5, 2007; the show will kick off with a free reception that’s open to the public Friday, December 8, 2006 from 8 pm to midnight. The gallery is located at 30 West Pike Street in Historic Covington, Kentucky.
This month-long exhibition will highlight creations by regional artists and designers focusing on rock posters, and also showcase works such as advertising design, CD packaging, paintings and more.
Pop Rocked 2 will feature work by Covington KY’s Powerhouse Factories; Brian & Sara Turner from Lexington’s Cricket Press; Cincinnati based artists Kevin Neltner and Rob Warnick of Small Print Press; Dayton, OH’s Denis Mutter and Scott Kustowski from FNHarsh Design and illustrator Jason Goad; Clinton Reno of GalaxyReno and artist Will Ruocco from Columbus, OH; and Andrew Vastagh from Nashville’s Boss Construction.
Organized jointly by Pat Jones of Powerhouse Factories and Denis Mutter of FNHarsh Design, Pop Rocked is the second installment of regional art events to intended to bring artists together, promote gig posters and screen-printing, and to highlight some of the stars of the burgeoning Midwest underground art scene.
