ComboPlate Booking announces POP STARS: Dads Who Rock, a project where a new definition is offered of what it means to be a POP STAR.
Men who balance their musical lives, family and fatherhood... dad singer songwriters - the true POP STARS of the music scene. The POP STARS show is a songwriters circle/song swap where four singer songwriters, who are also fathers, take turns singing their songs and backing each other up with extra instrumentation and vocal harmonies. The four artists are Michael Fracasso, Nathan Hamilton, Matt the Electrician and Beaver Nelson. Each of these artists also has their own solo career and various accolades, and they have 18 solo releases between the four of them. Based in Austin, the group plays a Sunday residency show at Opal Divine's Penn Field. While children dance around and sing, parents can hear intelligent and amazingly beautiful songs (no Wiggles here) from four of Austins best singer songwriters. In 2005, the Austin Chronicle voted the show "Best Event to Take the Kids and Get a Beer". All music fans are welcome! The four songs featured here were each inspired by the one of the kids of the POP STARS.
POP STARS: Dads Who Rock are available for special events and private bookings. If interested in booking the POP STARS, please contact laura at comboplate booking dot com.
