Harrisburg-based independent record label, STLP, is proud to announce
PorAmor 2, Central Pennsylvania's only official hip hop festival slated to
touch down on stage at the Appalachian Brewing Company on October 4th,
2008.
The brainchild of hip hop collective, Artists Over Industry and STLP, the first PorAmor took place July 9th, 2005 in Reading, Pennsylvania. The all
day outdoor event garnered massive press from local publications, attracted
sponsors from all over the region such as Al's Pizza and well known skate
shop Fishbone, and gave attention to a music scene that has been laying
dormant for many years. The first PorAmor featured performances from
Central Pennsylvania hip hop artists and a special headlining performance
from national record duo, Louis Logic & JJ Brown (Fat Beats). With a turnout
of over 200 people, the event was a critical success and a huge step for the
Pennsylvania hip hop scene overall.
Currently, STLP is joining forces with Roundtable Presents to bring alive
PorAmor 2, a highly anticipated event over three years in the making. Talks
have been passed through loose lips, but nothing concrete surfaced until
now. The event will feature eight of central Pa's most seasoned hip hop
artists, with returning performers from the first PorAmor such as: Artists Over
Industry, Apollo's Sun, El*A*Kwents, Phynite, and Repeat Offenders, all
established acts with ballooning fan bases in their respective markets. In
addition to the acts above, The Avengers (Pluto and Cristo), The Nothing,
and Sam Doom & Analytical (46 Acorns) have been added to the PorAmor 2
line up. On top of vibrant performances, PorAmor 2 will feature djs spinning
live music outdoors on the ABC's deck all evening and a graffiti exhibit, with
artists creating pieces on the spot for the crowd's viewing pleasure. STLP's
PorAmor is an event celebrating the love of art and music, a tradition that
started on a hazy summer day in 2005 and will be returning fiercely in early
fall of 2008. Please visit www.stlp.net for updates and information concerning
PorAmor 2 in the months leading up to the event.
