Bio
THE BEGINNING... 'twas at an art gallery show when I was outta town that Brian Bunt announced from the stage that I had been killed in a car accident, his band at the time was Forbidden Fruit and... the other members of that band were Chris McLellan, Ian Seabrook, and J.M. Coffey... fact is I wasn't killed in a car accident but... Brian quit that band and when I got back to Ottawa, the band I was singin' for – Angry Raisins – had spun its last synth trill so... Brian suggested I might front this band that he had just quit and so I went and tried it and it was a gas... didn't think it would amount to much, goin' out there – the wilds of Barrhaven – those guys, with new bass player Bruce Stevenson, were so much younger than I was but I had a freakin' riot and kept goin' out there 'til we worked up enough material, guess we got on a bill or somethin'... a few gigs under our belts and within a half a year we put down eight songs in the studio, six of which became our e.p. ............................ SOME FACTS Porcelain Forehead came onto the scene in 1982 and quickly gained a strong following in the punk community with their unique brand of punk with the occasional burst of hardcore and Mike Hillis's frenetic vocals. ............ Over their three-year life span they did some touring, appeared on three compilations and released two records, and shared a stage with many infamous bands including the Dead Kennedy's, the Butthole Surfers, and M.D.C. They stopped performing in 1985 when Chris went to India....................................... THE REUNION....................................... The band reunited in June, 2009, to practice the old material with the original line up of Mike Hillis, Chris McLellan, Bruce Stevenson and Ian Seabrook, which was the first time they had played together in 27 years. Plans for an actual reunion show continued without the participation of bassist Bruce Stevenson. His replacement, Janine Frenken (from Unwarranted Trust), completed the line up. The reunion show took place on March 20, 2010, at the Dominion Tavern in front of a packed house.................. The reunion show was followed by two shows opening for Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine in Ottawa (April 3, 2010) and Toronto (April 4, 2010).............As for what's next... -
