Ska, reggae, punk, ragga, metal, some might say Reggae-metal. And if you listen real close maybe we sound like Bad Manners, The Bosstones, Rancid, Devo, Sublime, and the Stray Cats - all trying to play the same song all at once! (and not agreeing on a tempo!)
2007 marks the 20th anniversary of Australian band The Porkers, who play a mix of ska, rock and reggae with a whole bunch of other influences thrown in. They've released a whole bunch of albums and ep's independantly on Pete's Sound System label, added to that they've had releases worldwide in USA, Japan, Brazil and many others. They've toured USA, Japan, New Zealand and Europe as well as countless trips around Australia. They've played with the who's who of 'real' music scene, from The Cramps to The Royal Crown Revue, from No Doubt to Suicidal Tendencies, and they've given a leg up to many upcoming bands. 20 years on The Porkers are uncomprimising and unrelenting.
