Hailing from Pig City, Pennsyltucky, where Jack Russell terriers chase porkroll frisbees and casual conversation flows like the Great Scrapple River back behind Ole Bucktooth Johnson's, Buck Hunter and the Pigcity Porkrollers pick'n'grin with the best of 'em. Well I'll be damned if our shining capital of good ole fashioned good-for-you non-trans fat don't bring a greasy tear to my here left eyeball and a nostalgic pain to my heart right next to where I done got my triple bypass last July. Shucks. Hmm, that nostalgia reminds me of how I felt right before my 1st 2 heart attacks… Aw, it’s nothin.
Anyway, back to Porkchop, Dick, Buck and sometimes Red. That’s the Porkrollers. They’s quite a bunch now, family folks, you know. Buck is the primary songwriter and sanger. I like to think of him as a historian documenting all the charms and chagrins of life here in ole Pig City. He picks like a rooster and strums like a cow’s tail. Chief Dick Lightfoot doesn’t speak English but he sure does speak harmonica. Blow Dick Blow! how your reeds make me quiver! The newest addition to the Rollin Pork Boys is a splendid musician named Porkchop. Porkchop, like the food. He picks and steps the pedal steel. The way he makes that biscuit board sing has often make a grown man cry. I’m not gonna give any names, I’m just callin’ em as I sees ‘em. Now Red is Buck’s brother although they have different last names. His moonshine is not to be messed with and he swears that it’s the magic potion that makes his banjer sang! Drinkin that stuff done put hair in places I never thought possible! Unfortunately Red’s horse got asthma and can’t make it out to where the other Rollers is much these days. Unfortune has indeed strikethed in this realm.
