We have a sports bar with 5HD screens 2 HD projectors, and Digital surround sound. The sports bar has a full bar 12 taps and a full menu. The kitchen is open at all business times for eat in or take out. 207-772-8274 ext.4. We have an open sky lit foyer, and a star light ceiling in the dance club. The dance club also includes a v.i.p. area with bar. The sound in the dance club is meticulously considered with a sound bouncing wall over 20 feet wide. Asylums exterior is one of the most recognizable in portland and in itself a work of art. The downstairs bar includes custom murals, and a full bar.
The Asylum is located in the heart of Downtown Portland, at 121 Center Street, behind the Cumberland County Civic Center. We have three bars to entertain all of your needs, and are home to Portland's premier live music venue! The new sports bar includes a full menu, and wireless high speed internet. We are a 21+ venue.

For those who haven't heard, we'll be in the studio these next few months to record a new album with the renowned reggae singer, Eyon Irie. After that it's summer shows and writing songs for the next Orbits album!

On September 6, 2008, a dear friend of many here in Portland, Maine, was physically assaulted by two strangers who approached him as he was walking home downtown after an evening out. These individuals told our friend that he 'looked gay' before they suddenly and violently began beating him. Fortunately, the attack was interrupted by good Samaritan(s) who had the courage to intervene, and we are so thankful to them for saving our friend from a situation that could have become unthinkably worse!
As it is, our friend ('B')* has suffered a concussion and bleeding on the brain, among other injuries, and he will require follow-up medical care. Like many people who work in the arts part-time and at a bill-paying job the other part of the time, B does not have health insurance.
