Portland Music Company has been operating since 1927. The Martin Luther King Blvd store was moved from downtown in March 2000. We are one of 5 locations in the greater Portland-Beaverton area. The MLK store features hundreds of electric guitars, basses, and amplifiers. We have a vast selection of recording equipment and the knowledge to back it up.
You won't find better experience, knowledge and support anywhere else.
The MLK store offers affordable production software classes in a fully equipped, state of the art classroom. We carry the best lines of products in town like: Fender, Vox, Gretsch, Ibanez, Bogner, Eastman, Taylor, Marshall, Boss, THD, Motu, Presonus, M-audio, Genelec, Tascam, Line6, Korg, Roland, Mackie, JBL, Tama, KRK, DW, Samson, Zoom, Behringer, DBX, Focusrite, Yamaha , just to name a few!
Whether you are looking for a custom drum set, a jazz guitar or a complete recording studio, you will find our prices extremely competitive and a very fun place to hang out.
Well yes, a little bit of shameless self promotion won't hurt too much right? But don't worry, we're not here to shove products in your face. We have a web site for that (ok, you can check it out, you know you want to) We are here to have fun and maybe, in a very small way, we can try to help our fellow bands, musicians and artistes in Oregon.
We are interested in local bands, musicians, venues, artists, studios, radio stations, labels, basically anyone who's related to what we love. We want to play your music, post your gigs, report stolen gear etc...let us know what we can do.
We made the cut! We're in the TOP 50 phase of the Fender Road Worn competition. WE owe it all to friends and fans like PMC - big ups and blessings. Thanks for the support!

At the Muddy Rudder in Sellwood (corner of SE 7th and Tacoma) Saturday night 11/1 will be a rare solo performance by noted roots/Americana tunesmith and guitarpicker Delmark Goldfarb. His tune "Portable Man" landed on the Appleseed Records compilation "Give Us Your Poor," which also included artists such as Bonnie Raitt and Bruce Springsteen. All original, 8 pm to 11 pm, no cover.
