PORTLAND OPEN STUDIOS
Applications open January 15, 2010 | Deadline March 15, 2010
Portland Metro Artists wanted in all media to open their studios to the public on October 9, 10 and October 16, 17. Artists open both weekends. Show your art processes, sell your artwork, build an audience and communicate with the public. Artists are selected for the event by jury and will have an image of their artwork published in the Tour Guide and on the web.
Emerging Artist Scholarship Opportunity for artists between 20 and 30 years old
Kimberly Gales Emerging Artists Scholarship is awarded to one or two emerging artists every year. The recipient will have all fees waived and receive a $100 stipend.

See Art Being Made -- During Portland Open Studios
Portland Open Studios is an annual tour of artists' studios in the Portland Metro area every second and third weekend in October. During this self-directed tour you can visit print-makers, sculptors, photographers, potters, fiber artists, metal-smiths, glass blowers and painters of every stripe (portraits, landscapes and abstract). You can step into artists' workplaces to see their tools, techniques and know-how of making art right before your eyes!
See artworks in every stage from start to finish and in a wide variety of media and styles. Go behind the scenes. See the creative process. Ask questions. Whether you are a seasoned art lover or just beginning your love of art, you are sure to find artworks to tickle your fancy; touch your heart; and perhaps to own.
