Portland Rise is a piano-led 'alternapop' trio based in north London. Living and gigging for several years in the saturated musical environment that is the capital forced them to take their songwriting in a unique direction: By dropping guitar sounds and focusing on the potential of piano, bass, drums and human voices they get to the very core of a song and deliver it with sincerity.
"A band with intentions to win hearts and make pop music to fill academies" Under City Lights Magazine
"[Hurricane] is a really striking track, with a really melodic and quite melancholic thread as well...very memorable." Linda Serck, BBC Radio Berkshire
