Portraits for Judith has been the ongoing project of Nick Kosobuski (x-Entropy) and Dustin Fennessey (x-Dogrust) since early 2006. Originally named "Stoma Blue", they entered the Minnesota Budlight True Music Battle of the Bands and experienced rave reviews and fan reaction. Upon the completion of the event they decided to take the project more seriously and perform under the name "Portraits for Judith". The band saw a revolving door of drummers before finally meeting Tom Anderson (x-Linus/Earth Worm Circus), whose hard hitting tribal beats seemed the perfect canvas for the dense moodiness and wash of sounds which was becoming their trademark sound.
