sotto voce loves film noir, surrealism, snarky sarcasm, abstraction, summer, glenlivet, good music, b+w photos. we ARE NOT interested in heavy metal bands or rappers as performers at sotto voce events and, most likely, we won't want you as a "friend", either. we hold a bimonthly, invite-only event which hopes to engender an atypical experience for the audience and our truly lovely and talented visual artists and musicians.
thus far, in 2006, we've had: justin carloni, mara flynn, northern, the great invisibles, tim nelson, mosfet, horchata, hearts of darkness, testface, tractoroperator .....

THIS IS WHAT WE DO PRIOR TO SV HAPPENING, SET TO MUSIC FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT:

to top off my torment, my music is being overpowered by the cover band across the street - I've recently been subjected to terrible tributes to Dave Matthews and Blues Traveler, my mood improved a bit with a mildly irritating rendition of "Thunder Roads" followed by "Rocket Man". 52 minutes to go!
thanks for coming out and celebrating. i guess owe you both a scotch AND a compliment. (but i had thought i was just repeating your own description of it? no?)
Hello -- hope you are doing well......lovelovelovelove your music!!!
Please vote a "10" for me on the Saatchi Showdown this week. I would greatly appreciate this as I am very close and every vote means a lot. Here is a direct link and my image.
Thanks kindly for the request, I hope you enjoy the music. I'm not near some speakers at the moment, but when I am, I'll be sure to check out your stuff :-)
Our album was dropped on the RPM/Wire the 28th. If you want to get an idea of what it sounds like take everything inside your heart and your best friend's heart and times them by 1000, then listen to that through a pair of speakers. Pretty crazy huh?
I hope your heart can handle it. I would hate to break another one.
no worries - i've decided to extend my birthday celebration throughout the weekend! Ugly David treated me to Japanese followed by chocolate cake, red wine and a movie rental.
