Roman Blazic exhibits a series of oversized photographic images inspired by his “Muse”. Blazic exploits his media by understating value and overstating contrasts. His treatment of the human form is poetically erotic and evocative of hidden mysteries. (press release)
We salute 91 year old artist Marie Ulmer for a successful exhibition at Proximity Gallery which runs throught the month of January. Prints from plates dating back to the late 1930's that Marie created are being featured.
Thanks to everyone who made Standard Craft such a big success!
The rock band "Gods and Queens" found the Positive Space Sculpture Garden as the perfect place to be photographed. They posed in front of the tank. This picture was published in Decibel Magazine.
It took time and planning with the City of Philadelphia and the generosity and cooperation of both Paul Malvey and Stephen Pascavitch. We are most thankful for keeping us informed over several months when the work crew would be in the neigborhood to produce and give us the wood chips.

About me:
Mission Statement: Our goal is to create a network of local artists for an exchange of information and resources to further the development of creative concepts and ideas, as well as create new opportunities for emerging and established artist by integrating art into the community in which we live.
POSITIVESPACE was founded in November 2000 by a group of Fishtown residents with diverse talents in the arts and a realization that they might not be the only neighborhood artists. The original eight members began meeting in various studios and putting the word out that all artists were welcome. In what seemed like no time, 8 turned into 25 and regular meetings were established.
POSITIVESPACE represents a broad range of the arts from visual to audio to performance. Through a variety of events, exhibitions and installations, POSITIVESPACE aims to establish itself as a multifaceted artists association based primarily in Fishtown, but with an eye for the whole of Philadelphia and then the world...
POSITIVESPACE became a 501C3 nonprofit organization in December 2003.
