About me: Positive Steps is a project developed by Michael Moore-VonGaysen The project entails a planned walk leaving Seattle, Washington June 30th, 2008 and conclude in Washington D.C. at the White House on December 1, 2008 (World AIDS Day).
The goals of the transamerica trek are...
-To increase national awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic that affects millions of our nation.
-To raise funds which 60% will be donated to the National AIDS Fund, while the remaining 40% will go to more local/rural organizations.
-To collect and compile data for a sociological paper on current educational levels in middle america in regards to HIV/AIDS
-To help educate those of middle america about the basic facts of HIV/AIDS
The trek is to be symbolic of an individual's struggle during his joureny of living his life with HIV/AIDS. Every day is physically, mentally, and emotionally taxing, but we have to face each day and take a positive sep forward.
