I'm an author and entrepreneur with a passion for my culture and my community. I just left my position as VP of Application Development (aka Technology) with Swiss American Securities, which parent company Credit Suisse Group (a global Fortune 100 company) has decided to shut down. My goal is grow my near 20-year-old "side hustle" Posro Media into the country's leading convergent entertainment company specializing in African American culture. In addition to our comics, books, and new film and video projects, I consider our signature project to be My Image Studios (MIST), a multimillion dollar center based in historic Harlem, NYC dedicated to the art and culture of the African and Latino Diaspora. It will consist of 3 theatres, a restaurant and bar, and top-of-the-line post-production facilities for video and filmmakers. MIST is scheduled to open in Q4 2009 and will be the first green convergent entertainment complex in the U.S. See my other page at www.myspace.com/myimagestudios for more info.
Over the years Posro and I have been featured in a slew of media stories including those in The New York Times, the Washington Post, the the Source magazine (twice), and MTV (remember Yo! MTV Raps with Ed Lover and Dr. Dre? We did a mock Posro Komics book cover of them that was part of the set for years.)
I'm available to speak to groups and organizations on the following topics:
- Leadership
- Diversity
- Education
- Current events
- Community service
- Technology
- Sports and the Black athlete
- African-American culture (including Hip Hop culture)
