LIGER consists of Dino Spiluttini, who played all kinds of instruments in the post-punk-duo Bruspi, hit the drums for the silly metal band Kniff17, currently also makes music as Yeah Pretty Boy and Duran Durandom, runs a label called Beatismurder Records and can be hired for various (graphic-/web-)design and audio services HERE (yes, do it!)
and Gernot Scheithauer, who played the Drums and other stuff in Barbarella Plüsch, Mimi Secue and is currently the awesome drummer of Marilies Jagschs band.
LIGER started as another "folktronica" solo project in 2005 and eventually grew into a superhero powerpop duo in 2006. We have played several tours that led us through 10 countries, sharing stages with acts like Carla Bozulich's Evangelista, Unwed Sailor, The Paper Chase, Rechenzentrum, Otto Von Schirach, Picastro, Britta Persson, Trouble Over Tokyo, A.R.E Weapons...
You might have noticed that we have released a new album called "Crash Symbols". We think it's pretty good. We're actually extremely proud of it. There are various ways how you can buy it, and i'm pretty sure you'll be able to figure that out yourselves.
Thanks for your attention. Good bye!
(austrian) media praise for crash symbols: "Who said we should imagine Sysiphos as a happy man? I don’t remember, but he probably has “crash symbols” on his ipod while rolling that rock up that hill. (...)
Rarely will you hear an album with so many indirect and direct variations of lost love, broken love, frustrated love, dead and dying love, desperate love and bleak and terrible love.
(...)it is definitely an album worth listening to an eleventh time and then some more, because to some people it will easily jump over the “interesting” treshold, and become a wonderfully illustrated roadmap to the human mind. Because, after all and despite of all the desperation, the spark of hope in mankind and the possibility of love is always there, hidden deep and fading, but without it, all of this would sound completely different." (TBA) "“Crash Symbols” became such a wonderful revelation. (...)
Central to the Liger muzak now and then: Dino Spiluttini’s trembling bass-baritone, full of strength and failure, sex and melody. (...)
What makes “Crash Symbols” outstanding in spite of everything is Dino’s talent to write touching melodies. (...) I’m an addict, hella goth!"
Find euch ja so "ziemlich super". Hahaha. Ich habe euch jetzt unserer Konzerttruppe mal vorgeschlagen. Die sagen, ja mach einfach. Also wir können verhandeln... Greetz Nils
Hail to the chiefs. Bestes. N. PS: Habe irgendwie verzockt nen Tonträger von euch mizunehmen. Will CD gegen Geld.
Thank you, we..ve just find that you played in Czech Republic, but we missed you.. so I hope you will play there next time. all best to you and your music! Lucy
