POST-grunge is a not-for-profit organization that supports modern Pacific Northwest bands by helping them to network with other bands and by showcasing their music. POST-grunge creates compilation CDs and puts on shows, featuring bands involved in the project.
Two compilations have been released, one in 2006 and the other in 2008. The two compilations feature a total of 30 bands and represent the creative efforts of roughly 110 local musicians. POST-grunge has also put on roughly 17 shows in cities all over the Northwest.
We believe local music connects with local listeners in a unique way that national and international music can’t. It’s important for musicians to network and support each other because many bands together attract more attention than a single band on its own, a buzz created amongst local musicians quickly spreads to music listeners, and the quality of art is increased when artists collaborate.
To represent the Northwest's diverse sound, and to broaden the appeal of the compilation; we welcome new members, who play various styles, to get involved in the project.
