Post Summer festival La première édtion

POST SUMMER FESTIVAL is an initiative of a Dutch guy who is heavily inspired by the DIY-scene since 2000. Around the change of the millenium he went to the Peacedog Festival (R.I.P.) in Ede, Holland, and fell in love with the positive vibe that was so present then, created by positive, open-minded and forward thinking youngsters (Karel Smouter & Eelke de Blouw) who thought our country needed more festivals where all kinds of bands shared the same stage, nomatter what their musical direction was. As long as there was respect towards eachother's beliefs and the mindset was "passion over fashion", bands were welcome to play a decent set of either indierock, metal, hardcore punk and all styles in between. Also, there were infostands about a vegetarian and/or vegan lyfestyle and during the years, a lot of conversation took place. People felt that we can make a difference in a world where people seem to no longer think for themselves. A world where people let themselves be dictated by lust instead of looking out for eachother. Along the road, the Dutch guy discovered that changing the world isn't something you do in a couple of days. Neither is it something you should do on your own. But it's definitely the best thing to fight for in this world where a clear mind itself is already something to fight for. He discovered that this change doesn't have to be really big. It can take place step by step, through small actions and with sometimes more pain than joy. But it's all worth it. Because he can't accept the way things are in this world today. Ever. And he will keep fighting the good fight. With or without you. The Post Summer Festival is a small, one day, DIY-festival for bands and visitors with open minds. It is about sharing a positive message, having a good time and listening to heart-felt music. The Dutch guy discovered that a lot of postpunk, postrock and postmetal bands have this positive attitude. Maybe bands will just play music and not share a message on stage, but the conversation can always take place. Or not. Let's just have a good time and make the world a better place for only 1 day, this summer. Let's go to the Post Summer Festival!
