Sounds Like
One thousand pounds of chest hair falling from atop a building onto a well dressed cowboy with his boots and pockets filled with Pop Rocks candy.
The Proprietors of the Earth come across similar to an abstract painting. The colors bleed and fade across the aural canvas simultaneously delivering both the gentle and the cacophonous.
Discontent with the notion that there is a need for genres, the Proprietors equate progression with a deviation from the norm. Drawing from a variety of influences, both obscure and otherwise, the Proprietors of the Earth attempt to cover the entire spectrum of sound with notes and noise and instruments and voices. The music contains the profound, the simple, the gentle, and the abrasive. Utilizing various techniques ranging from sampling, looping, and synthesis, to raw improvisation, the music becomes potent fodder for the mind.
This Norman Oklahoma based quartet, Geoffrey Burch (keyboards & vocals), ethios4 (guitar), Clement Silvers (bass), and Kris Dorrough (drums), care not whether the music is branded as "good" or "progressive." Instead, they are motivated by the seemingly insane drive to deliver a message through music that is all their own meanwhile obscuring the parallel between the size of the ensemble and the dynamic range and impact of its sound. The Proprietors are here to reclaim the precious real estate that is the Earth and invite all to come along for the ride.

Well the Proprietors Of The Earth have taken another step towards making into the ranks of bands like, Phish, The Grateful Dead, The Disco Biscuits, & The Talking Heads last night at the D fest Music Festival in Tulsa Oklahoma. They turned in one of the most solid Set's of music from start to finish that i have personally ever seen from them! The band really went out of there way to make sure that the crowd got to see just how versatile there music can be. They played everything from psychedelic, to electronic, to just straight up ragging Rock n Roll! There was defiantly a buzz in and around The Fly Trap Music Hall with folks who had heard of these guys who call themselves "The Proprietors Of The Earth". There was even a guy from Warner Brothers Records that went out of his way to come see the boys play, and I'm 100% sure he left telling himself that the buzz he had heard was all true, and more!
We ended up putting it together with JFJO. May 24th 9-11pm FREE concert at Paseo Festival!!!!! YOur early on confidence about just calling the went a long way. Thanks.

Had a great time, as did everyone else who attended. "Jam > Get Down" was badass! But IMO the show stopper for NYE was the "Bad Dudes > Habitual Residual". "No Before The Storm", but that's ok there will be other shows. Thanks to PoTE for a great year of music, i can't think of a better way to end the year than with good friends & great live music. See u all at PoTE shows in 2009.
Everyone scream "We want Before The Storm" on NYE until Geoffrey says "Ok we will play Before The Storm" then sit back and get ready to get your asses ripped!!
"Smooth Grooves Brought To U By The Proprietors of the Earth"
AWESOME!!! New years at the sauced, listening to Pot earth live.....I'll be there!!! You guys are amazing! Unfortunately, I was unable to be at the last few shows to support you, but really look forward to being at this one.
Only the highest kind of support comes in the form of folks who will sit outside on the coldest day just to get some SAUCED. Happy Holidays (all of them) and Merry New Year. We will see you on our Birthday. Thanks for all the support always. SAUCED
