Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, POTENTIAL THREAT carries on the long-standing tradition of Thrash Metal in the very same region in which it was born. Formed in 2001, their influences range from New York Hardcore such as Sick Of It All and The Cro-Mags to the aggressive music styles of Slayer and Metallica. Their drive to work hard promoting the band while making the necessary sacrifices in order to put them in a position to tour extensively in and out of the country. POTENTIAL THREAT is currently in the process of recording their first full-length release at Get Reel Studios in San Francisco, working again with Producer/Engineer, Guy Higbey, who was at the helm of their well-received 2005 demo 2.0EP. Based on the strength of thet demo, the band put together a 22-day tour in Germany in April 2006, where they headlined six of the eight dates. This year has found the band quite busy preforming extensively throughout Northern California and the Central Valley in order to bring their music to a wider audience, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Reno and Utah. Plans for a Northwest tour are currently in the works, and another trip overseas when the record and distribution deal is secured.
