The idea for POTTY MOUTH SISSYS was formed in early 1992 by Ryan B., a 16-year-old with dreams of fame—and maybe fortune. Inspired by the old school rap of Beastie Boys, Run DMC and The 2 Live Crew, as well as the comedy of George Carlin and Andrew Dice Clay, Ryan B. longed for the stage. He wrote the lyrics to PMS originals GRAMMA'S GOTTA DICK and 3 BLIND DYKES and recorded himself singing these and many others in his makeshift studio. By 1993, he realized that he might have more fun if he turned his solo act into a group. Presently, PMS has seen band members come and go over the years, but Ryan B. still keeps it going.
Over the course of 17 years, PMS has made it quite far and accomplished many things. With a perfect blend of clever and laugh-out-loud rhymes and some rockin’ beats, they’ve gained recognition from labels such as Capitol and Geffen and been played on many local Detroit radio stations such as 101 WRIF, 93.1, Channel 955 and 89X (88.7 fm). They’ve also played hundreds of live shows at over 50 venues across the metro Detroit area, winning over crowds with cult classics such as ROADHEAD, HITTEN IN THE MITTEN, SHOT GIRL WHERE YA AT? and BOOBILLIES.
PMS is well known for supporting the Detroit radio station 89X. Their intro for Jay Hudson's Homeboy Show can be heard every Sunday at 10pm. You can also hear their new 89X @ NITE intro at 7pm every Monday thru Friday. They’ve also been featured on the Morning X with Dave & Chuck the Freak numerous times with such songs as THE LISA WAY SONG, COOKIE PENIS, IT'S FRIDAY BITCHES and IN THE DARK STALL. PMS also got attention on 89X's Peoples Choice with their Downriver classic TAYLOR MADE in April 2009.
