Music

my band pounce international has a profile in the band section of myspace. check it out.
i like many types of music as long as they are good.
Movies
kubrick, gilliam, carpenter, etc. i'm a movie hound.
Television
i suppose mentioning things like arrested developement and mr. show aren't out of the question.
hi, i'm paul kavicky, a smart ass audio engineer here in ohio.
UPDATE - i will be living in chicago for the next 9 months. i got a gig doing audio production on the show Wicked. this is going to be an awesome experience. i found a great place in chicago, and i'll be working on a wonderful show with great gear and a top notch crew. so i won't be able to play around in columbus like i'm used to. i'll miss my friends, family, and the places i like to hang out. but believe you me, i'll be having a good time.
live sound work for me has included many types of productions, and i am a member of IATSE. larger touring shows, backline, and sound (monitors and FOH) are typical duties for me. i had a house sound A1 job in a 4000 seat venue here in town, and have done a tremendous amount of freelance work both live and in the studio. since graduating with a degree in technical theatre, i've had the pleasure of working in this industry in one capacity or another. the photos here are of my studio space in columbus. i've taken some of my recording kit with me to chicago, but i still have the room set up in columbus.
i have a variety of interests when not doing sound, including riding my cannondale bike or bringing my funny looking dog "mr. peabody" out on walks. also, when not running live sound apparently i'm still discussing it, i moderate the live sound forum at the womb - http://thewombforums.com . you can visit me there.
l can do magic and have done a lot of performing in my life. also, i once owned a coffee shop near the OSU campus and thought that was a cool venture. i like to try all sorts of new things.
lastly, i paint and am about to embark on further independent film ventures. i've worked on other peoples movies, now i want to make my own. it should be cool.
Who I'd like to meet:
Abraham Lincoln's doctor's dog

To love justice, to long for the right, to love mercy, to pity the suffering, to assist the weak, to forget wrongs and remember benefits -- to love the truth, to be sincere, to utter honest words, to love liberty, to wage relentless war against slavery in all its forms, to love wife and child and friend, to make a happy home, to love the beautiful in art, in nature, to cultivate the mind, to be familiar with the mighty thoughts that genius has expressed, the noble deeds of all the world, to cultivate courage and cheerfulness, to make others happy, to fill life with the splendor of generous acts, the warmth of loving words, to discard error, to destroy prejudice, to receive new truths with gladness, to cultivate hope, to see the calm beyond the storm, the dawn beyond the night, to do the best that can be done and then to be resigned -- this is the religion of reason, the creed of science. This satisfies the heart and brain.
Hope your having a swell summer! Thought I'd stop by and share my latest rag doll. I made her for the Nibblefest Art Contest. The theme is Angels And Demons. Click the picture for details...
