The vision of (musician/entertainment attorney) Johnny Robertson, coupled with the success of his Grammy Award winning independent label's, (Libertad/Universal Records) Grammy Award-winning/nominated Artists, called for the creation of a company active in as many entertainment industry sectors as possible. During the last four years, Robertson has actively focused on creating PowerHouse Entertainment Group & Section 8 Records, a company with a 360-degree business model involved in recorded music, production, music publishing, artist management, film production/distribution, and merchandising.
PowerHouse’s growth has been more organic than acquisitive and is a destination for artists and artist-run labels. PowerHouse's model differs from most of its competitors because it takes a more holistic "artist development" approach as opposed to merely looking solely at the label's profit center. Section 8 is the imprint which will release the rock/urban/R&B/Hip-Hop and all other non-"Libertad" Latin music releases.

Former partner of one of the oldest (1880) Philadelphia boutique law firms, Hepburn Willcox Hamilton & Putnam, LLP, Robertson's vision called for the development of a more boutique, concentrated practice in the areas of Entertainment Law, Civil, Commercial and Corporate Litigation, Intellectual Property, Non-Profit and Business Transaction and Counseling.
Since 1987, after his 20-year professional music career as a musician and recording artist, John has focused his legal practice (NY, PA, FL & NJ Bars) and entrepreneurial pursuits on the entertainment industry. He has represented and managed various clients including songwriters, record/ publishing companies, record producers, as well as sports radio and television personalities. Robertson serves as a Governor of NARAS (the Grammy's) and was its former Secretary/Treasurer of the Executive Committee.
