The owners of Powerhouse Gym Woodbridge are three Northern Virginia natives and lifelong friends with a shared passion for health and fitness. Kelly Kirk has worked for companies including Gold's Gym, Sport & Health Clubs, LifeFitness/HammerStrength, and the Washington Redskins. Kelly is a bodybuilder, but is currently taking some time off from doing shows to concentrate on getting Powerhouse up and running! Brothers Pete and Mario Pieri are the other two owners. A swimmer in high school, fitness has always been a priority in Pete's life. Mario, a swimmer as well, continued swimming throughout college until he graduated with his degree in Sports Management and went on to work for Gold's Gym.
ABOUT US:
We purchased WomenFit Total Fitness Center (now Powerhouse Gym) on August 16, 2007, along with the space next door where C.L. Barnes Furniture was located, and we have been doing construction and renovating that space ever since. Since we took over, we have been operating as a preview center and sales office. As our original expected opening date of January 1, 2008 was pushed back due to construction delays, the 6,000 sq ft section officially went co-ed on January, 21st. The next date we had expected to open by, February 20th, was also pushed back, due to permit delays. We FINALLY made it completely through the inspection process on May 9th, and we officially opened on May 12, 2008!!!
Now open for over a year, we've developed a loyal and diverse member base, which continues to grow as we march toward the two-year mark!!

Hey Kelly and Mario! What's goin on? How's the gym going? I almost stopped by the other day to say hi to all the old people I knew but it was too busy for me. Guess that's a good thing for you guys! :)
I know I've been posting bulletins but I wanted to go thru and personally invite people to the art show/party this weekend for cureforchris. I'd love to see you stop by and bring lots of friends! it should be a lot of fun. we got a dj, food, drinks, graffiti art to prints, raffles, etc. it's fri & sat from 9pm-2am at Layla's on king st in alexandria. I'll be there both days. there is a $10 donation at the door but all proceeds are goin to pay chris's med bills. hope all is good with you and the gym. TAKE CARE!!
