Washington Transcripts (What is really being said in DC)
President Bush wants his whole team to get behind John McCain’s surge message. The mantra is we have won Iraq, the serge was good and Genral Petraeus is a great American. The President wants no deviation from these themes. We are to make no mention of 500,000 dead Iraqis or the thousands of billions we spent to obtain this result. The American people don’t need any costs beifits analysis at this stage. All they need to see clearly at this stage is some good old White House cheerleading.
