  • General

    My greatest passion is people, as cliché as it sounds. I'm a psychology student, amateur philosopher and anthropologist-at-heart; my mind can't help but break down its surroundings into a complex mixture of motives, desires, ideas, beliefs, and societal influences, and I'm not sure I'd have it any other way. The sheer variety of attitudes, thoughts, emotions and abilities expressed by the human race dazzle me to no end, and enjoyably so.

    I love language like I love life. Words can be our sharpest weapons, our handiest tools, our favorite playthings, our best friends; language is the very fabric of our reality, and of all the realities yet to be imagined, and it's so very exciting. If you can use a word I've never heard and then explain it to me, you've won me as a friend.

    Religion, though I abstain from it personally, fascinates me completely. How and why people maintain such a dizzying array of similar, dissimilar, contradictory and logical beliefs, often in the same head, is one of the Great Questions of this world.

    Technology is my second-greatest passion, especially the ways in which it enhances communication and influences society. Computers are my primary hobby and the way I make a living. Yes, I am a geek, though I try not to be a stereotypical one.

    Lots of people say they "listen to everything". Most of them don't mean it, but I think I just might. Also, at some point in time, I will insist on assimilating your music collection.

About me:

Sometimes, when I'm walking, I like to pretend that I'm actually stationary and the world is being pushed backwards by my feet.

I relish a good discussion, or even a debate. I enjoy taboo topics; they're usually the most interesting. I don't care about being right, just about learning. That being said, never pretend to be interested in my ideas just so you can peddle yours.

If I had a million dollars, I'd go to school full-time. I'd love to be that crazy guy with 20 degrees. Though I'd settle for just one right about now.

I'm a skeptical optimist. I want lots of things to be true, even if I don't think they are.

I think I might accomplish something great someday. I just have no idea what, when, or how.

I have a preference for good conversationalists with varied tastes, eclectic personalities, and considerable intelligence. I do not, however, discriminate; come as you are, we have much to learn from each other.
