Generation X? GenerationY?
F**k that, let’s go stir crazy and lower
expectations right down. When was the
last time you called anything
contemptible? (If you’re unsure, see
mean, abject, low or base) And very
distasteful? Just plain distasteful is funny
enough, but these two ‘jack-the-lads’
decided to choose a name which has
connotations of say [insert your own
distasteful image in here] but then add your gran in the background...but she’s naked... sucking seductively
on a banana. Hmmmmm nasty.
Aside from a few exceptions, Australians aren’t renowned globally for dance music production. But these
guys are flying the Aussie flag. They’ve remixed Mylo, Nelly, Green Velvet (best remix award with Kid Kenobi),
been on numerous compilations, (see Clubbers Guide etc.) sat on top of the Australian dance charts with
their remixes (e.g. Benny Benassi’s ‘Satisfaction’)and they still manage to keep things lively!

Let us recap here: PoxyMUSIC are two guys who have a sense of humour, a crazy name, a bucket load of
skills and are recognised worldwide. (Jealous? I wouldn’t worry; they are probably trying to make up for some
thing. I think we both know what I’m getting at). So what next? Well it’s time for that difficult first album. Over
four years in the makingand it was worth the wait. Side stepping the old argument of ‘club bangers or
serious songs?’ they’ve produced something both poignant and sublime while at the same time heady,
heavy and grimy. This is everything you’ve come to expect, and more than you can ever imagine. Come
downs never sounded so painfully beautiful as on the Jamie Lloyd collaboration Better Man, while War Paint
is all dark, sweatbox dubstep. This is an album that has as much relevance on a dark rainy London evening,
as it does on Playa den Bossa, as it does at Mad Racket.

But like tits and arse and bacon and eggs, producers and DJs are the two sides to the same poxyMUSIC coin.
Do you need to know how good they are? What would you like to hear?
It’s like an aural assault on your ears? The way they play tunes makes them sound like you’ve never heard
them before? When they play it’s like a choir of angels singing in the club? You are reading an artist’s bio for
Christ’s sake! What we will say is that they’ve been playing in Australia for years; both of them have been
producing for nearly as long, and Ken runs a record label and also promotes one of the longest running most
successful underground house nights in Sydney. We don’t think we really need to spell it out to you, the
proof, as they say, is in the pudding. If you are still unsure however, when they are playing people dance not
cry, and the dance-floor doesn’t all go the bathroom when there’s a break in the tune. That’s poxyMUSIC.

Yes it's all true, a gap has been found in the hardcore raving schedule and, like a magical golden condor egg, 60 minutes of top notch party action have been laid down as an offering to you, the ravers. Hopefully you'll enjoy it, it kind of hurts laying a golden condor egg. But don't think of the pain of the Outlaw, get swept away by the magical wonder of rave. That's enough of that anyway. Come on over and grab it while you can!
