Psycho Punk Granny From Hell for Obama & Peace!'s Interests
General
I want to work for the planet and for peace. The past eight years I've remodeled three houses - the first took me seven years - I love to see changes come from my work. It's almost as good as painting or writing, which I also enjoy.
I love the Oregon and California coasts, mountains, hotsprings, or just driving across deserts or into mountains. I've visited Hawaii four times and enjoy the water Very Much!
I love my my family, my friends, my dogs, my house and yard, and my tools - esp. my 12" DeWalt Chop Saw, my DeWalt cordless drill, and my table saw.
I go to the Rainforest Site first, because if we don't have rainforest, we're all dead. All. Dead. All. Click every day. Sign up. Do it. I mean it!
Music
Blues and Rock n Roll - light jazz - folk songs - Janice Joplin, the Beatles, Sam Cooke, John Hartford, Rosalie Sorells - and many more -
Movies
I belong to "net-flix" and watch a couple of new OLD movies a week - movies that I missed back in the day - and I own movies I watch a couple times a year, mostly romantic frippery: Connager, Overboard, Jeremiah Johnson, Willow, Paint Your Wagon, Dances With Wolves, Sleepless in Seattle - Yes. I like dramatic westerns and chick flicks. Not an eclectic list - I watch movies for entertainment. For edification, I read.
Television
I record old sit-coms - MASH, Game shows - Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune; and "human interest" stuff like "Extreme Makeover, Home Edition" and "The Dog Whisperer," and watch them at night when I need to calm down before I sleep.
Books
I read and re-read the Basic Text of Narcotics Anonymous. It works, How and Why. The Step Working Guide, and Just for Today. Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy, Jared Diamond's Collapse, the Third Chimpanzee, and Guns, Germs, and Steel are books I've read recently. Among my favorite books are "Eye of the Needle" for suspense and anything by Amy Tan. I read all the Harry Potter books before I sent them off to my grandson. I enjoy reading science and nature essays. And I love anything Joan Didion and read The Year of Magical Thinking last year. I'll read anything Izak Denisen (Out of Africa) has written.

Psycho Punk Granny From Hell for Obama & Peace!'s Blurbs
About me: I listened to the debates - I checked out what they said they'd do if elected, and I looked at the records of what they'd actually done. I read Obama's books and I looked at his record. His history since he was in college has consistently been about mending what's broken from the ground up. His energy has been spent getting people communicating with each other. The "yes we can" rhetoric is more than just words. He's been about empowering people to ignore difficulties that weren't relevant and to get in there and make changes for the better. When I hear people say "he's just a talker," I have remove the "just." Being a "talker" is the most important quality our president needs. He needs to be able to communicate at all levels, calmly and intelligently. I'm very excited about having this calm intelligent man in the white house!
About me - I am a working artist. I left KCMO and my (now ex) husband in June of 2006, quit a very good administrative assistant job in the corporate world, flipped a house in Boise, moved to Heyburn, Idaho in September, got my divorce final, and now I paint - oil and acrylic on canvas - 20 hours a week or more. I'm not a novice, but I hadn't painted seriously since college - too long ago to think about - and now I am a serious painter and loving it.
Find some of my paintings here in my pics, and all of them at http://www.yessy.com/ppgfh
I love painting. I love writing. I love reading fact and fiction - history and science. And I love reading to an audience who enjoys being read to. I love the poems of Gerard Manley Hopkins, Auden, Yeats and Robert Frost. I love my own poetry (else why write it?) http://heywoodlorraine.com/Poempage.htm
I'm allergic to smoke, to alcohol, and to cats.
The poster child for the triumph of hope over experience, I've been married before. Three times in the sixties. Briefly in the 80's. Again from May of 1999 until October of 2006. I don't count the ones in the sixties. The divorces don't bother me nearly as much as the marriages to the wrong people. It's taken me years to figure out why we married. Why we divorced was always more evident.

Who I'd like to meet: I respect anyone who puts their beliefs on the line and works for the environment, for peace, freedom, and development of programs that help those unable to help themselves.
I like meeting people who are like the people I already know. And I like meeting people who are totally different from people I already know. I like meeting people.
I enjoy tolerant folks who enjoy work AND play. They aren't profligate but they aren't selfish, either. They are happy jumping into a car or pickup for a trip to the mountains or the ocean and happy to spend the day working in the yard.
I like people who don't carry grudges and are not afraid of other people's ideas. They aren't creationists, anti-abstractionists, sexist, racist or homophobic. They are attracted to bright and independent folks who know their own mind, but don't care to own folks.
They love music, art, literature, ideas, conversations and GOOD jokes and are comfortable in a rowdy crowd (for example, my family), or completely alone. They love themselves for the child they were and the adult they are and are not looking for someone to make up for all the grief life has handed them.
People I like believe it's our responsibility to do what we can to protect the planet and the people and animals in it. They want to do what they can for less fortunate people - maybe a neighbor, maybe a stranger.

People I like don't label someone with an earnest opinion a fanatic. In fact, they don't label folks. And if I disagree with something they did or said, they don't tell ME I've got an anger problem. Anger problems come from NOT telling people how you feel.
So I was telling all my friends that I actually wore dresses on occasion and looked like a girl... and yet you didn't post the good pics of me in my dress and my 4 month prego bump... :(
Just stopping by to congratulate you on your 25th clean date anniversary! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I had my 4th annual dinner at my place Sat. afternoon/evening. We had a blast! Miss you and hope all's well in your neck-of-the-[Hey]woods!
With your support, our book is the beginning of an overall grassroots campaign to pressure Congress to enact REAL reforms to protect the retirement and 401k's of average Americans!
Our message is controversial and one that Wall Street doesn't want you to hear. "Crazyman's Economics" exposes the fraud of the the stock market and commodities market and shows why they're the two greatest con games in US history!
We need to educate the public to expose the truth about who we refer to as the "Masters of Illusion and Deception, who separate the masses from their money without accountability or prosecution!"
Over 50 MILLION Americans lose money in the stock market, and we're convinced we're investing when we're participating in a rigged gambling game.
We also expose the REAL reason we are paying $4.00 or more at the gas pump. It's not supply and demand, or OPEC, it's due to the OIL SPECULATORS IN THE COMMODITIES MARKET, and they are making fortunes, and you are paying higher gas and food prices!
"Crazyman's Economics" exposes the myth that the markets are key to a strong economy and in fact, work against the average investor and consumer.
"Crazyman's Economics" is a self-funded project and the book is available for $17.76 on www.amazon.com or www.crazymanseconomics.com.
Buy the book and visit out site when it is relaunched later this month. I invite you to join our mission and tell your friends. It's time someone stands up to the Wall Street elite!
