Sarah Weddington will be speaking at UCSB's Embarcadero Hall (in Isla Vista) on Thursday, May 15th, from 6:30-9:00pm. UCSB's A.S. Womyn's Comm is bringing this event to the Santa Barbara community for FREE. There will be a Q & A following the talk. This will be amazing, and I hope to see everyone there!

In 1973, 26-year-old Sarah Weddington argued (and won!) the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in the United States.
Ms. Weddington went on to become the first woman from Austin to be elected to the Texas House of Representatives, and then served as an assistant to President Jimmy Carter.
She is the author of the book "A Question of Choice," which is about her experience arguing Roe, and is currently a professor at the University of Texas.
