| About Preston Young |
Preston Young is a pseudonym. By using an alias it allows me to escape the every day hustle and bustle, the daily grind; and gives me an opportunity to live vicariously. When Im DJing I let my guard down to interact with the crowd. I allow the crowd to see my true colors. When Im not DJing Im usually the shy guy standing off to the side observing. It takes a great track.. or maybe a couple beers.. to get me out on the floor dancing. But, when those headphones go on I cant help it, the passion I have for music is too strong, I need to dance and interact.
Im known for playing Hard Trance, NRG, and Hard House. I play around with some other genres as well, such as Progressive House, Techno, Minimal, and Deep House. Also, recently Ive been messing around with some Breaks. Those are the styles that I play, however my taste is very eclectic. I like a lot of different stuff, such as dnb, tech house, speed garage, psytrance, tribal, down tempo, dub step, 90s hip hop, punk, and alternative rock.
I run a monthly show on DigitallyImported.com called Elements Of Hard Trance. It airs every third Tuesday of the month on their Hard Dance channel at 1pm PST. If you tune in post some feedback on their forum, or message me. I'd love to hear what you think.
Well, I was born in Seattle, and Ive been living here my whole life. I have a close circle of awesome friends, and I probably do all the typical stuff that you do. Comedies are my favorite movie genre. The sports I enjoy are basketball, soccer, and baseball. I work in the IT field for a dotcom. My studio apartment is probably the size of your closet. I love to travel as often as possible. My regular stops are LA, San Francisco, Miami, Vegas, and Hawaii. Just a few of the countries that I some day want to visit are Germany, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and Japan. When I go out on the town with the crew, I'd rather spend $50 shooting pool, drinking, and raiding the arcade, than in a club. I love food. My favorite kind of food is Thai. My favorite beer is a local brew called Mac and Jacks. I love music more than a tall frosted glass of Mac and Jacks and a plate of Pad See Ew. I think I have a great eye for art and photography, although I cant draw a straight line with a ruler or snap an amazing picture. Im a professional Mario Kart racer. I wish I could break dance. I have a few tattoos, and Ive never had a piercing. And, Im a fairly chill guy with a sense of humor that can fall in to any of these categories: quirky, witty, goofy, sarcastic.
