JEFF TAYLOR and the PRAIRIE RUST BAND performs acoustic and electric versions of songs by legendary songwriter Neil Young. The band's song list spans Young's entire career as a songwriter and performer. Jeff Taylor’s vocal nuances are similar to Young's, and the group includes male and female backing vocalists, acoustic and electric guitars, pedal steel guitar, banjo, piano, organ, violin, harmonica, bass, and drums. This instrumentation allows us to capture the spirit of Young's original recordings. We are well suited for theater clubs, festivals, fairs, clubs, college circuits, and for any venue or private event.

Thanks so much for the beautiful rendition of "After the Gold Rush" (one of my favs, you know!) and "Birds!" You & the band sound fantastic! Have y'all booked lots of shows yet? Please keep me updated on how things are going & I'll be back down in the Big Easy for the summer (ugh....not looking forward to that 95 degree heat! ) Saturday night. Have a great week & keep in touch. Hope to TTYS!
Sorry I never had a chance to reply before now, but we've been soooo busy here in the mountains. I'm going back to NOLA in 2 weeks, so do let me know if you're gonna be touring down there in cajun country! How's everything going w/ the band & tour so far?
As for 20 year olds & Neil, I find so many of them are turned off on rap & all their other b.s. "music" these days, that they welcome a chance to hear & learn what made rock & roll great in the 1st place. It certainly WASN'T rap...LOL!
Always good to hear from you & happy summer to you & the band! Have a great weekend.
It's been awhile since I stopped by as I'm currently visiting my daughter & family in the North Carolina mountains, but I just wanted to say that your new band sounds great! All the voices & instruments blend so well together!
I was playing "Light a Candle" while my daughter & I were playing Canasta earlier & she asked what that "new Neil Young" song was! She grew up listening to Neil & I used to sing "After the Gold Rush" to her every night in the rocking chair. So I told her I'd let you know that she thought you were Neil! :)
I'll be up here about another month, so do let me know if you're going to be playing in the Boone or Blowing Rock area.
Have a great week & please give the band a big "thumbs up" from us!
