Born out of the music scene in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Leisure Sound started out small calling themselves "Hebro's" (Orin Henselyn and David Levin, featuring vocals from the lovely Sara Rose) performing at venues such as the Last Supper Club (pioneer square) and Columbia City Theater. Then in early 2008, under a new name, LS filled out the bandstand with Mario Cruz the song writing expert, Anthony Krause who moved from Oahu to bring in some da kine ladat island vibe, Areia Pytel the man with state-of-the-art futuristic guitar licks, and Dan "2.0" Weiss who plays the drums with serious schmaltz! The group linked up just in recent with two crowd favorites, horn addition Dana Hench or "Nervous D" on bone and vocalist Kartina Kope from the well acclaimed Soul Kata ; who has added tremendously to compliment the groups rich lyrical content.
Leisure Sound’s music is a unique fusion of Ska, Dub, and Americana, experimental in nature and wonderfully broad in appeal. If music and other art helps to define the time we live in, an ever-changing age of evolution for the human species, than their songs are a window into the then, now, and future times ahead…embodying the good aspects of living in the Puget Sound area and promoting that life be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Currently, LS is working on a recording project laying down tracks on an extended E.P. to be released some time in the next year. Stay tuned… -Sasquatch
