The story of Preach began in late 2006 when Niklas Eriksson (drums) and Jimmy Axelsson (bass) met Edvin Settervik (guitars) and his brother on their way to Swedish Metal Expo.
Niklas, spontaneous as he is, engaged in a conversation with Edvins brother and mentioned that his band, Rattle, had just split up and that he and Jimmy were looking for members for a new project. This caught Edvins attention and interest. The boys jammed with each other a couple of times and later on, Victor Graan joined on rhythm guitars and Carl Lundvall grabbed a hold of the microphone and became the front man of Preach.
In late 2007, after Victor had been replaced by Alex Wijkman, the boys recorded their first (proper) demo, "Weight Of This", a nine track cd produced, recorded and mixed by the band but mastered by Stefan Söderberg at Huset in Huddinge where the band rehearses. The demo was released in april 2008.
Shortly before the release, guitarist Alex Wijkman left the band but he was quickly replaced by Magnus Grönberg.
During 2008 Preach played a bunch of gigs and focused on spreading their name and music all over the country AND the world.
With their new release, the seven track demo "Melt To Sand", Preach treads new ground with their music. The sound has evolved from the days of "Weight Of This" and is now more refined and more melodic but has not lost its heavy parts. The demo was recorded by the band but mixed, mastered and co-produced by Oscar Ammer.
With this new release in the bag, Preach is ready to continue their work trying to create a name for themselves in the harsh world of metal. Check out their music and visit their gigs and you will notice that Preach is a band that gives 200% on stage and in the studio!
