Kauai native Preeta, began playing piano at the age of seven and her primary instrument the guitar at age thirteen. Her name means beloved in Hindi, and it reflects the inner passion that Preeta has with her music and her life.
In the spring of 1999, Preeta moved to L.A. to attend The Musician's Institute in Hollywood. It was there that she met her first back up band. They played many venues in Southern California including, The El Rey, The Viper Room, The Gig, Twiggs, The Whiskey, The Derby, The Dragonfly, etc.
In 2004 Preeta collaborated with producer Brian Reeves (Rooney, U2, Billy Idol), to create the much anticipated full-length album In this Moment. The new pop/rock/reggae album combines catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics and has been receiving five star reviews from Music Connection and countless other magazines and online tastemakers.
In 2006, Preeta met the other members of her current band, Preeta and The PeaceMakers- Daniel Krieger, Austin Nickolson, Alexis Arenella, Bianca Caruso, and Kate Shukle. They have been playing shows for the past 6 months at The Temple Bar, The Malibu Inn, The Mint, Molly Malones, 14 Below, Harvelle's, etc. They have also joined with the like minded group, Cipes and The People to do shows with.
