Born and raised in Kings County, New York. Premium grew up in the crown heights section of Brooklyn. Growing up in New York in the 80’s Premium saw hip hop all around him. Graffiti, DJs, Emcees and braking was an essential part of inner city activity during that era. Premium started writing poems at the age of 9. It was usually about how he felt at the time incorporated with what he saw at the time. Whether it was someone from Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, or Queens. He felt that he could relate to them because he grew up in the areas they talked about. By the age of 14 Premium started writing battle raps that were advanced for a kid of his age. He attended Washington Irving High School where he battled just about every contestant and held his own. Never taking his age into the battle he usually outwitted and sometimes embarrassed the other rappers. In 2001 after Sept 11th, Premium joined the United States Marine Corps. In Okinawa Japan he met several individuals who also had a thing for music. They started a super group entitled “DA FAM”. They recorded a full length original album which sold over 3,000 copies in Japan. Due to being in the armed forces the group dismantled and did not keep in touch with each other except for two. After moving around so much, premium decided to take a break from writing. It wasn’t until coming back to the states and observing the present state of hip hop; Premium decided to get back in the booth and recorded over 25 songs in a 15 day time span. Premium has a bigger picture in his mind. “It’s a message for the community and fake rappers”. His 4th recorded piece of work is entitled, “visas and passports” vol. 1, it’s a mix tape /preview of what’s to come. Now he’s down with Water–n- Haze productions out of east Harlem. They take the credits for 2 tracks on an upcoming diplomat mix tape. Premium is ready for the race to being the “King of New York”. He’s fully hydrated and got a new pair of Nikes. He’s already the self proclaimed prince of Brooklyn. Being a former marine this soldier is ready to be a leader in the hip hop world.
