Influences
"PreNup has a distinguished pedigree (ex-Pogues bassist Cáit O'Riordan teamed with singer/guitarist Fiachna Ó Braonáin and drummer Dave Clarke of the Hothouse Flowers). The songs on their dynamite new album, Hell to Pay, look at the vagaries of love and loss with weary knowingness and a gritty, countrified sound."
Michael Harrington, Philadelphia Inquirer Sep 16 2007
"Corralling influences from the likes of sleazy Rolling Stones, strung-out Heartbreakers, raunchy David Bowie and down-to-earth U2, the record rocks in all the right places."

What happens when members of two of the greatest bands in Irish rock history get together? Something incredible… Back from their lengthy US tour, Fiachna O Braonain and Dave Clarke of the Hothouse Flowers met up with Cait O Riordan of the Pogues, and the result is.. Prenup.
The first session happened by accident, jamming together at a party in a castle in the foothills of Ireland’s spectacular Wicklow Mountains, it was one of those legendary moments in music that happen by chance, and that no one present will ever forget.
Classy guitar, insistent bass and drums, gritty vocals and songs written by rockers who know what they’re doing… talkin’ about a foolish love, Prenup started recording. Making noise in a disused office block in Dublin’s famous Temple Bar, followed by two days at Elektra Studios, Prenup laid down their first tracks, guerrilla-style, then got on the road.
Gigging in the wild West of Ireland, in the heat of Austin, Texas for SXSW, and as special guests for Hothouse Flowers on their US tour, Prenup rocked the house wherever they went while at home put the finishing touches to their debut album "Hell to Pay". It was released in North America on Sep 4th 2007, in Ireland on April 4th 2008 with plans to release worldwide to follow! Those in the know can’t wait…

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Hi PRENUP, I Draw Slow are playing The Cobblestone, Smithfield in Dublin on Wednesday 24th June, supported by the amazing Thomas Kitt. Doors are at 8.30 and admission is €10, a small price to pay to see the citys two premier acoustic acts don't you agree? On the off chance you disagree, come down on wednesday next to the Cobblestone, Smithfield Dublin and we'd be happy to discuss it.
Every time that we listen & write music... play an instrument... dance... act in a play... or work in some audio/image/video engineering process... something is healing inside...
When we share it with friends... something is healing all over...
