BioPresence is a cover band based out of Eastern North Carolina. This band brings a lot of energy to every performance as they belt out Rock/Pop/Top 40/Country & R&B songs from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and today. With such diversity, this band rocks out the songs that make you want to sing, dance and party the whole night through! Presence loves crowd participation, so when they come to a venue near you, get up off your feet and get ready to have a good time! ..Presence is also the youngest cover band around with an average age of only 25! The band is also available for corporate functions, private parties, fraternity/sorority events, and wedding. Scott Blackburn (Rhythm Guitar / Lead Vocals), Jessica Brust (Fiddle / Lead Vocals), Kyle Stuart (Lead Guitar), Jonathan Toler (Drums), and David Ruiz (Bass Guitar). Scott Blackburn was born and raised in North Carolina. In his younger days he traveled with his father in many well-known Gospel groups such as Southern Ambassadors, Gold City Quartet, and The Anchormen. Scott found a passion for music at age 14 when he started playing drums in the garage with his best friend Chris Richardson (from American Idol: Season 6). He also learned to play piano and guitar. As a vocalist, he won a seat in the All-County Choir which included 10 people from each school in the Wayne County School District. Jessika Brust was raised near Philadelphia, and moved to Charlottesville, VA. She got her first band gig in first grade, and began studying the violin in third grade. Throughout school and college, she performed in choirs and string ensembles of all sorts, and starred in musical theater productions. She went to Elon University, where she studied theater, jazz, and opera; and studied opera in Graz, Austria last summer. She has fronted a show band for years, and currently works for an original rock band. Kyle Stuart was born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He started playing piano at the age of six and guitar at the age of nine. He played piano for his church at the age of thirteen. When Kyle was fourteen, he began performing with the group Style 17. Since then, he has been a member of JdoggMcGee Plus 3 and Fifth Element. His major influences are Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Steve Stephens of Billy Idol. Jonathan Toler was born in Greenville, North Carolina. He knew he wanted to be performing on stage after his first Kiss concert in 1996. He began playing drums at the age of thirteen. In 2000, he was playing snare drum in the Princeton High marching band. In 2002, he co-founded the original hard-rock group Elysium. Jonathan has opened up for national acts such as Rev Theory, Saving Abel, Eve 6, Puddle of Mudd, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, and Candlebox. David Ruiz was born in Raleigh, NC. He began playing the piano at age 7 and guitar and bass at 13. He holds a degree in Classical Guitar Performance from UNC Chapel Hill and currently plays with local acts Mysterium Tremendum and Rude Troll.
