Present Day Theory is an act that has been in many incarnations over the years. Prior to a name change in 2007 from “One Bad Day (http://www.mp3.com.au/onebadday) ” and previous to that “Lo-Lite (http://www.mp3.com.au/lo-lite) ”
Present Day Theory attempts to keep as much diversity in their music as possible, and not pigeon to a style, or sound, while keeping a central thread between all songs.
Originally formed in 1999, then under the name “lo-lite”, they have done nothing but grow musically and personally into a force to be listened to, with powerful lyrical content and infectious melodies, and stage performances that will make your jaw drop.
Biography
Cameron Holmes
Lead Vocalist/Lead Guitarist
Present Day Theory
Time and fate can be testing, yet for the strong can offer so many rewards. Always waiting for tomorrow and another tomorrow is not for the meek, yet, Cameron Holmes has earnt his fair share of education from the School of patience. To truly shine is to give your heart to a lifetime passion.
Cameron began his musical career at the budding age of 7, picking up the Flute initially, then Trombone and Tuba within his school years. During this time his father introduced him to guitar and the story really began. Learning blues and rock classics on acoustic guitar he quickly gained much experience and moved onto creating his first High School group named “3 String,” playing blues and jazz classics at simple functions and school events.
Toward the end of school, Cameron’s writing talents caught the eye of an artist named Miah Gibson, a band was formed between Miah and Cameron.
The last week of year 12 proved very interesting for Cameron, disbanding from the previous band and forming a new act, having a double bass player, the blues, funk and jazz influences flowed through, and by a quirk of fate they met Ken Wilson and formed the act “Dangerous Innersense.” After the first 6 months they released the EP Dancing in Broken Glass.
Shortly after this, Dangerous Innersense disbanded. Cameron at this stage without an act to perform with, was working at Bunnings, and had been talking with new friend Corza about the possibility of starting an act together. Cameron, still being in contact with previous band members called upon friends, they formed the act “Lo-Lite” and performed at many of Melbourne’s venues and released a self titled EP. From here the band restructured many times and evolved into what we now know as Present Day Theory.
Cameron had been in no less than three separate bands, with Present Day Theory itself seeing two name changes, Lo-Lite to One Bad day and then finally Present Day Theory.
Cameron has a huge octave range with vocal ability that sets him aside from the average. Cameron has been compared to many yet always remains outstandingly original, he does not follow any suit nor tries to. What you hear from Cameron is his true heart and soul. He remains Cameron and shows the World his strength and love for music.
Cameron’s favourite band is Tea Party.

Biography
Nick O’Connor
Drummer
Present Day Theory
As any functioning system needs a heartbeat, a rhythmic timing for perfect function, there is no difference when it comes to bands. Nick O’Connor is that Heartbeat and drive of Present Day Theory. A well timed, strong heartbeat that pushes all around him, on and forward.
Nick started playing drums at the young age of 7, graduating from practice pad to full kit then, relatively quickly he moved onto orchestral percussion at a rapid rate and gained knowledge of all things musical. Being self taught this was not an easy road to take however, Nick’s time spent has produced a drummer that does not necessarily think of his kit as a normal drummer would, but as a finely tuned dynamic instrument. Present Day Theory is Nick’s debut band.
