What to say...
Well, I like to think of myself as someone who has a great deal of passion for life and all that it has to offer. I take each day for what it is worth and I enjoy each moment. I am blessed with an amazing family and genuine friends that have supported me through good times and bad. I have learned that to love yourself is the most important lesson to learn in life before you can truly love anyone. I have a great deal of respect for people from all walks of life and I have found beauty in diversity.
I would like to one day become very involved in politics and public policy. From the day I saw Ronald Regan on television I knew that I wanted to make a difference in this world. Life is too short to hold onto prejudice and hatred, rather our time should be spent enlightening ourselves to other cultures, uniting in our similarities, and celebrating our differences.
As an American man, that happens to be gay, I know what it is like to be "different" and to be ridiculed, but I have not let that stop me from moving forward in life. We all have our own obstacles to overcome and our lessons to learn, but we need to do it in our own time. Individuality in this country, something that was supposed to be viewed in the greatest of lights, is now being suppressed as the media, politicians, and the ultra-conservative right tell us how we should live our lives. I have news for them, no one should have to conform! We are all children of God and we were each fashioned in his(or her) image.
I am a person that loves to see the good in all people, but I guess that has been a blessing and a curse for me. I am deeply saddened by the recent outbreak of Terrorism at the global level and the current administrations policy on human rights. While I respect George W. Bush for his positions, I cannot stand by as a proud American and allow this kind of blatent hate and discrimination go on. Love is the most beautiful thing in the world and it does not matter if it is love between friends, family, heterosexuals, homosexuals, teacher & student, whatever!
All in all, I guess you could say that I am a person that has great aspirations and dreams. Most importantly, I am not afraid to take the risks that are necessary to see those dreams manifest themselves. I take pride and interest in being able to help others realize their dreams and to feel good about themselves.
I'm a pretty easy going kind of a guy -- keep the drama away! I love spending time with my friends and family, especially bingo with grandma on Saturday nights. I go to the movies here and there and love to hit the gym for a good workout whenever my schedule permits.
Who I'd like to meet: I am interested in meeting motivated, outgoing, and intelligent individuals to help promote and develop 4+1 Productions, Inc..a non-profit production company that is "dedicated to diversity education and accelerating acceptance through theatre & media! Our mission is to eliminate prejudice, hatred, and ignorance in our communities by producing quality works that stimulate the senses, challenge the status quo, and enlighten closed minds to the beauty of various cultures and traditions.
