Press

"At times disturbing, definitely inquisitive, this composition requires attention, rewards lurking behind the corner if one’s patient enough." Massimo Ricci, Paris Transatlantic/Touching Extremes

"Not unlike William Basinski with his Disintegration Loops, Preslav Literary School focuses on creating something new and personal out of found sounds and dull, everyday happenings. A sense of wonder and amazement is conveyed through the sounds, and a sense of otherworldly significance is given to the simplest of actions. Thomas succeeds in making something fragile and exquisite out of tedium and monotony, and that is where the art of Beautiful Was The Time lies. This time truly is beautiful." Sputnik Music

"A haunting, subtle piece of sound art that sounds like it could have been emitted from some archaic dream-capturing device." When We Were Younger And Better

"A soft scatter from static and the voice loops, determined to be heard among the din and chirping birds. The wails of strangers hum in other rooms. Holy places, perhaps. Alchemists bleeding life into their sullen gold mourning as if that sacrifice might shed some magic into the mosaic of ghosts. Of orchids. Of language raised in unknowable reaches... Preslav (proper) was founded in God as much as it was in man and this is a piece wrought by a divining hand." Pinpoint Music

"This is a lovely, creaking, ruddy-complexioned brew of staggering dictaphone melancholy, the sound of a faraway alien orchestra slowly swallowed by warm, wet marsh-gas." alt.vinyl

"Preslav Literary School salvages tapes and reconstructs them. Pre-recorded sound is given life and vice-versa... optimistic, idealistic and dreamy, he desperately clings on to the new elements which arrive fully formed, escaped from his guidance, and persuades them to stay."By Chance Upon Waking

"Half way music, halfway aural investigation... the approach of Preslav Literary School results in rich textures and a specific sound that makes his tracks unique and memorable." Phlow Magazine

"...a fine balance between deconstructing itself and creating an audio-environmental soundscape that is fascinating and diverting." Ampersand Etcetera

Hello. Sorry if this looks like spam.

Having released a couple of tuneful albums with theAudiologist and Soni Jimm since my last LP, "Fear of Mathematics", Section 27 Netlabel brings you "Wrpdata”, containing 14 tracks full of chunky, breathy and some would even say pleasantly broken breaks, some good-time-mind-fuck glitch, a few (thankfully blissful) orchestrated mixes featuring the talents of Pinklogik and theAudiologist (also acting as co-producer on this release) respectively, and ends sweetly with some beautiful spoken word poetry by the lovely aussie Cindel Waddington.

A delight on the sensory organs from start to finish, "Wrpdata" is available now for *free* download (see my page or www.myspace.com/section27netlabel). Licensed by Creative Commons.

Have some.

FILM in sounds Vol. 6 Pure & Chessex David Lynch‘sERASERHEAD REVISITED The material for the sixth performance of the Film in Sounds series is Eraserhead. This surrealist-horror masterpiece from David Lynch features the nightmarish experiences of Henry Spencer. „A dream of dark and troubling things“ as Lynch mentioned it. One of the peculiar aspect of the movie is it ́s original soundtrack. As the film is set in a slum at the heart of an industrial center, the soundtrack itself is almost exclusively composed of the noises of machinery. For this performance, PURE & CHESSEX will create a new sonic envirornment to the movie proposing a reinterpretation of the Eraserhead experience. live sounds by: www.pure.test.at www.soundimplant.com/achessex.html http://www.tilsiter-lichtspiele.de/programm/veranstaltungen/film_in_sounds/film_in_sounds_vol6.pdf TILSITER LICHTSPIELE PROGRAMMKINO & KNEIPE Richard-Sorge-Str. 25a 10249 Berlin-Friedrichshain Tel. 030 4268129 www.tilsiter-lichtspiele.de Kulturbeitrag5 € Friday april 24th 22:00 Tilsiter lichtspiele (f-hain)
