Influences
Because there is a wide range of ages amoung the musicians in Press On, influences are also wide spread. Steve and Joey are old rockers straight out of the 70's with influences from Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, & Grand Funk Railroad. Tonia was influenced by the 80's with the big hair bands like Bon Jovi as well as The Pretenders & Blondie. And of course, everyone knows Matt is the rocker!
All of this secular stuff was refined by the hand of God into a productive ministry for the advancing of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, following the wake of ministries like Casting Crowns, Newsboys, & Third Day.
Sounds Like
We believe it's evident who our influences are when you hear what we sound like. We just hope to sound more like something that would reach the hear and heart of those who are lost as well as pleasing to the Saints.
Press On is a Christian rock band founded in the First Baptist Church of McDonough. Ga.
The name "Press On" is straight from Gods holy word, from the book of Phillippians chapter 3, where the Apostle Paul urges us to press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Press On is a registered name in the national band registry.
Most of the songs played by Press On are written by us, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and copyrighted. All songs BMI except one in a million.
Press On will minister in song and word where ever the call is. We can be found praying & ministering one on one; Sometimes a guitar & vocal in a small group, where two or three are gathered for praise and worship, or even in concert halls & stages with a full scale rock'n roll band boogieing for the Lord!
