Lisa Sundstedt's Beginners Class is starting Tuesday, January 12th and limited to ten comics. This eight week workshop guides women through the basics of stand up comedy, joke writing and how to put a five minute set together. Upon completion, there is a graduation show for those who qualify.
The PFW Alumni workshop is for students who have completed the beginners workshop and want to polish their acts, work on new material and showcase for industry. This is a six week intermediate level class followed by an industry showcase. Start dates TBD.
Advanced Punch Up Class!!
The advanced "take your career to the next level" class is designed to help established comics punch up their acts, identify their blocks and step up their game. This class includes two professional joke writers/teachers and guest speakers who work in the industry. This very popular class fills up fast! It is for women who have been doing comedy at least two years and want to focus primarily on the business aspect of comedy. Qualified students will showcase at the Hollywood Improv and be considered for paying PFW gigs. This class is held Monday nights from 7:30-11:00pm. Start date is January 18th, 2010
The PFW open mic is every Friday from 6-9pm at Lisa's studio. Sign ups are at 6:30 and the line up is determined on a first come first serve basis. Suggested donation is $2 and each comic gets 5-10 minutes. This is by invite only. Email pfwclasses@aol.com to join mailing list and get all the deets.
